Lolita dress recycling : Episode 2

Hello everyone !

I kept two dresses from my Lolita period, including this awesome Victorian Maiden Classic Marine Lady in cinammon which I really love. Of course it has a boat collar, it’s one of the reasons why I kept it, but also for its lenght.

It’s 98cm long, which is longer than the average Lolita dress. That makes it very suitable for a more retro look. It’s a very good dress for spring, but it’s quite thick so I don’t recommend it for summer.
The little bows on the collar are removable, but I never changed their place, I like them like that, and without them the dress would look rather plain and empty, as I don’t have a brooch to match this dress yet.

For this outfit I chose to use my vintage basket styled bag. I wanted one of those bags since ages. I was very lucky to find this one on the stand next to mine at the Retro-Vintage market in Auxerre.
Most of the baskets I used to find were very small or not in good condition. I don’t know how old this one is, but it’s in perfect condition, a very lucky find !

I want the outfit to be very simple.

Like for my previous « Lolita recycling », I want the outfit to be very simple, avoiding elements that can make it look « too Lolita ».
When it comes to jewelry, I chose small bead earrings with matching necklace from my shop Bonbon Maléfique, and a ring I love from Fables by Marti Heil.

As the weather was quite warm, I chose not to wear stockings, and my shoes are my new pair of Marilyn black leather shoes from Royal Vintage Shoes. It is an american shop which I recently discovered thanks to a pinup I follow on Instagram. They sell several different brands, but they also have their own brand « Royal Vintage » . I decided to give a try to this brand because I really fell in love with this design. They give an awesome shape to the leg, plus they are simple and match almost everything. They are very comfortable, the insole is padded with arch support, which is absolutely great !
As precised on the site, they run quite large, so I ordered half a size down and it’s perfect.

About hair and make up : As usual I chose the natural-like style.
I really enjoy making victory rolls, but this time as the outfit was a bit country-like, I chose the « Heidi » style, low roll with flowers to decorate.

I leave you with the details of the outfit :
